About boringgame.org

A small corner of the internet for thinking games.

What Is This?

boringgame.org is a collection of free browser games designed to make everyday concepts — money, time, survival — feel real. No shooting, no grinding, no leaderboards. Just a few minutes of thinking about things that actually matter.

The games are deliberately simple. The ideas behind them are not.

The Games

  • Spend Your Life — You have roughly 390,000 hours left on Earth. How do you want to spend them? Allocate your time across work, family, health, and leisure, and see how the choices stack up.
  • Spend Steve Jobs' Money — He left $10.2 billion. Spend it on Apple hardware, yachts, and private islands until it runs out. Harder than it sounds.
  • Survive on Minimum Wage — You have $1,256 and 30 days. Rent, food, transport, and emergencies — navigate a month on the federal minimum wage and see what's left.

Who Built This?

boringgame.org is an independent project built by a small team curious about interactive storytelling and financial literacy. The games are free, open to all, and require no account or login.

New games are added periodically. If you have an idea for a "boring" game that makes people think, we'd love to hear it.

Philosophy

We believe the best games teach something without feeling like a lesson. "Boring" is a feature — these games won't hijack your dopamine, but they might change how you think about an afternoon, a paycheck, or a decade.
